Field Controls Oil Vent Damper with Control

The Field Controls Oil Vent Damper (OVD) with control is an automatic flue damper for oil-fired heating appliances such as boilers and furnaces. It cuts off-cycle heat loss up the chimney. When the appliance is in standby, heat from the appliance and the conditioned space can escape through the vent. The damper closes at the end of each heating cycle to keep that heat in the building, much like a fireplace damper.

Key Features:

• Automatic power open / power close operation. The damper opens before the burner fires and closes after the burner shuts off.
• Blocked vent safety shut-off switch to help protect against a blocked vent condition.
• Two internal safety switches for added operating protection.
• Hold-open service switch lets the appliance run without damper operation during service.
• Flex seal gives a self-cleaning action.
• Stainless steel construction for durability in flue gas environments.
• Metal-shielded wiring harness for the control connection.
• CSA listed to UL-17 and CSA B140.14.

Installation: The damper is installed in the vent pipe between the draft control and the chimney. The blocked vent safety switch installs between the draft control and the appliance.

Benefits: Reduces off-cycle heat loss and helps lower heating costs. It can improve efficiency and increase comfort by reducing drafts. Field Controls is a trusted name in combustion, draft and venting products. The OVD line is available in several vent pipe diameters to suit different oil-fired heating systems.
