Field Controls Automatic Gas Vent Damper Without Harness

The Field Controls Automatic Gas Vent Damper (GVD series) is an automatic flue damper for gas-fired boilers and other 24 VAC gas appliances. It installs in the vent pipe after the draft hood or barometric damper. It stays closed during off cycles, which helps keep residual heat and conditioned air from escaping up the vent. It also helps block cold air from entering during down drafts. This vent damper is sold without a wiring harness, and the harness is a separate item.

Key Features:

• Automatic operation: When there is a call for heat, the motor opens the damper by rotating it 90 degrees. It closes again when the thermostat is satisfied. Opening or closing takes about 15 seconds.
• Safety switches: Dual safety switches let the burner fire only when the damper is fully open. When properly installed, the unit does not interfere with the appliance's existing safety controls.
• Ignition compatibility: Works with 24 VAC, 60 Hz intermittent ignition and standing pilot ignition systems.
• Stainless steel construction: Provides strong corrosion resistance for long service life.
• Hold-open switch: Locks the damper open so it can be taken out of service while you troubleshoot appliance problems.
• Low power draw: Power to the damper motor is off when the damper is at rest.
• Keyed connector: The wiring harness connector plug fits only one way, which prevents wiring mistakes.

A vent damper can help improve heating system efficiency by reducing standby heat loss. It is a dependable choice for replacing or upgrading the vent damper on a gas boiler or similar appliance. Select the child item that matches your vent pipe size.
