Cole Hersee Trailer Socket with Protective Housing

The Cole Hersee trailer socket with protective housing is a vehicle-end trailer connector (also called a trailer wiring socket or flanged trailer connector). It links a tow vehicle's lighting circuits to a trailer's plug. The housing is designed to shield the terminals from road splash, dirt and debris. That makes it a good fit for boat trailers, utility trailers, and RVs towing a car on a flatbed trailer.

Key Features:

• Protective housing design: Helps keep road splash and dirt away from the terminal connections.
• Die-cast metal housing: Rugged construction for long service life.
• Brass split-pin contacts: Aligned to give solid contact and minimal voltage drop.
• Screw terminals: Accept up to 12 AWG wire for secure connections.
• Spring-loaded socket doors: Cover the openings when no plug is connected, and the plug locks securely when inserted.
• Replaceable interior: The insulator can be serviced without replacing the whole socket.
• Wiring codes: Identified on the insulator to make wiring easier.
• Flange mounting: Two mounting holes on the flange and a round through-hole mount for a clean installation.

Cole Hersee has a long history of making electrical connectors and switches for vehicles and trailers. This socket suits applications that need basic trailer lighting functions such as taillights and brake lights. It gives a dependable connection between the tow vehicle and the trailer.
