Briggs & Stratton 231062 Governor Control Rod OEM Replacement Part

The Briggs & Stratton 231062 Rod-Gov Control is a genuine OEM replacement governor control rod designed to restore precise throttle regulation in Briggs & Stratton small engines. This critical linkage component connects the governor system to the throttle, enabling the engine to automatically maintain consistent speed under varying load conditions.

The governor system functions similarly to a cruise control system — it detects changes in engine load and adjusts the throttle accordingly to keep RPMs stable. A worn, bent, or broken governor control rod disrupts this feedback loop, causing erratic engine speeds, surging, or loss of power. Replacing it with a genuine OEM part restores factory-spec performance.

Key Features:

• Genuine Briggs & Stratton OEM part — exact fit and factory-spec quality
• Precisely engineered to maintain accurate throttle response and stable engine speed
• Durable construction for extended service life under repeated mechanical stress
• Ensures proper communication between the governor assembly and throttle linkage
• Direct replacement for worn, bent, or broken governor control rods

Part number 231062 is a direct OEM replacement rod used across a range of Briggs & Stratton engines found in lawn mowers and outdoor power equipment. Always verify fitment using your engine model and type numbers before ordering.
