Wells 8G1079 Air Bag Clock Spring Spiral Cable Clockspring Assembly

The Wells 8G1079 is a direct-fit air bag clockspring (also known as a spiral cable, clock spring, or coil assembly) designed to restore proper function to your vehicle's steering column electrical system. The clockspring serves as a continuous electrical connector between the stationary wiring harness and the rotating steering wheel, allowing signals to pass uninterrupted to the driver-side air bag, horn, cruise control, and steering wheel-mounted controls.

Wells Vehicle Electronics is a trusted OE-quality supplier of electrical and ignition components for domestic and import vehicles. This clockspring is engineered to meet or exceed original equipment specifications for a precise, reliable fit.

Key Features:

• Direct OE replacement — designed to match original equipment form, fit, and function
• Maintains continuous electrical connection between steering wheel and vehicle wiring harness
• Supports air bag (SRS) system, horn, cruise control, and steering wheel controls
• Manufactured to meet or exceed OEM specifications
• Precision-wound ribbon cable resists wear and fatigue for long service life
• Sold as a single clockspring assembly

A faulty clockspring can result in an illuminated SRS/air bag warning light, non-functional horn, inoperative cruise control, or steering wheel control failure. Replacing the clockspring with a quality unit like the Wells 8G1079 restores full system functionality and helps ensure proper air bag deployment in the event of a collision.
