SEM Products SA6005 6-Inch Multihole Soft Backup Pad for DA Sanders

The SEM Products SA6005 is a 6-inch soft backup pad engineered for dual-action (DA) and random orbital sanders. Designed as part of SEM's professional-grade Performance Abrasives line, this multihole soft backup pad delivers superior conformability on curved, contoured, and complex body panels — making it a go-to tool for automotive refinishing technicians.

Unlike standard firm backup pads, the soft construction of the SA6005 allows the sanding disc to flex and follow the natural contours of a vehicle's surface, reducing the risk of high spots, swirl marks, and uneven material removal. The multihole design ensures maximum dust extraction through compatible dust-collection sanders, keeping the work surface clear for better visibility and improved abrasive performance.

Key Features:

• 6-inch diameter — compatible with standard 6" DA and random orbital sanders
• Soft foam construction — conforms to curved and contoured surfaces for even sanding pressure
• Multihole pattern — supports dust extraction systems for cleaner, more efficient sanding
• Hook-and-loop (Velcro) interface — for quick disc changes and secure disc retention
• Designed to pair with SEM's full line of 6" multihole grip sanding discs
• Built for professional automotive repair, prep, and refinishing applications

The SEM SA6005 soft backup pad is ideal for paint preparation, primer sanding, and finish work where surface conformability is critical. It pairs seamlessly with SEM's 6" multihole abrasive discs, including their full range of grip sandpaper from 40 to 2000 grit.
