AMP Research 86239-01A PowerStep Smart Automatic Electric Running Boards

The AMP Research 86239-01A PowerStep Smart delivers automatic, motorized retractable running boards engineered for seamless truck and SUV entry and exit. Powered by an electric motor, the steps deploy automatically when a vehicle door is opened and retract flush against the rocker panel when the door is closed — keeping a clean, aerodynamic profile while the vehicle is in motion.

Key Features:

• Automatic Operation: Steps extend and retract automatically with door open/close events via direct OBD-II or door-trigger integration
• SmartSense Technology: Intelligent control module monitors door activity for reliable, consistent deployment every time
• Durable Construction: Heavy-duty die-cast aluminum step pad with non-slip grooved surface for secure footing in all weather conditions
• OEM-Style Fitment: Designed for direct bolt-on installation using existing factory mounting points — no drilling required on compatible vehicles
• High Load Capacity: Engineered to support substantial weight loads for confident stepping
• All-Weather Performance: Corrosion-resistant finish and sealed motor housing stand up to rain, mud, snow, and road debris
• Low-Profile Retracted Position: Tucks neatly under the rocker panel when retracted, protecting the step from trail and road hazards

The PowerStep Smart is the ideal upgrade for truck and SUV owners who want the convenience of power running boards with a factory-integrated look and feel. Installation uses vehicle-specific plug-and-play wiring harnesses for a clean, professional result.
