Product Details

The Auto Transmiss Parts CA-2066 is a direct-replacement automatic transmission detent cable (also known as a kickdown cable or throttle valve cable) designed to restore proper transmission shift performance. The detent cable connects the throttle body or carburetor linkage to the automatic transmission, signaling the transmission to downshift when the accelerator pedal is fully depressed — a critical function for passing-gear response and overall shift quality.

Key Features:

  • Direct OEM-style replacement for worn, stretched, or broken detent cables
  • Restores correct kickdown and part-throttle shift points
  • Precision-manufactured cable and housing to OEM specifications
  • Designed for proper fit and function without modification
  • Helps prevent transmission slipping, delayed shifts, and improper gear changes caused by a faulty cable

A failing detent cable can cause harsh shifting, failure to downshift at full throttle, or premature transmission wear. Replacing it with the CA-2066 is a straightforward repair that returns the transmission to factory-calibrated shift behavior.

I received my order of Shurflo replacement o-rings very quickly - sooner than expected. Unfortunately, I really only needed 1 or 2 o-rings, but they are only offered in a pack of 10. I'll never use 10 o-rings, so it was wasteful spending. I shopped other companies, and could not find packs of 1 or 2, and Boatplicity was the least expensive for what is available on-line.
