Product Details

The Auto Transmiss Parts CA-8627 is a direct-fit carburetor accelerator cable, also known as a throttle cable, designed as a quality replacement for vintage Volkswagen applications. Cross-references include Pioneer CA-8627, Anchor 61904, Beck/Arnley 950343, Dorman 16610, NAPA 6101132, NAPA 6101625, PTC CB198, and OEM Volkswagen part number 111721555E.

Key Features:

  • Manufactured to OE specifications for a precise, stock-correct fit
  • Durable steel inner cable for reliable throttle response and long service life
  • Polymer outer housing protects against corrosion and abrasion
  • Machined cable ends for secure, rattle-free attachment

The accelerator cable (throttle cable) connects the gas pedal to the carburetor throttle plate, transmitting driver input to control engine speed. Over time, these cables can stretch, fray, or snap, causing sluggish throttle response, sticking, or complete loss of throttle control. Replacing a worn cable restores crisp, direct pedal feel and proper carburetor operation.
