Wells 8G1071 Air Bag Clockspring Steering Wheel Clock Spring

The Wells 8G1071 is a direct-fit replacement air bag clockspring (also known as a clock spring, spiral cable, or steering wheel coil) designed to restore proper function to the airbag system and steering wheel-mounted controls.

The clockspring is a critical safety component located between the steering wheel and steering column. It uses a flat, coiled ribbon conductor that expands and retracts as the steering wheel turns, maintaining a continuous electrical connection between the vehicle's electrical system and the steering wheel. This connection supports the driver airbag, horn, and any additional controls mounted on the steering wheel.

Key Features:

• 4-wire design with 5 connectors for precise, application-specific fit
• Restores proper operation of the airbag system, horn, and steering wheel controls
• Designed and tested to meet OE specifications for reliable, safe performance
• New condition — not remanufactured

Common symptoms of a failed clockspring include an illuminated airbag warning light, inoperative horn, non-functioning steering wheel controls, or increased noise when turning the steering wheel. Replacing a worn or damaged clockspring is essential for maintaining airbag system integrity and overall vehicle safety.
