Wells 5D1183 Distributor Cap Ignition Replacement

The Wells 5D1183 is a replacement distributor cap engineered by Wells Vehicle Electronics to restore proper ignition system function. The distributor cap plays a critical role in the ignition system by receiving high-voltage current from the ignition coil via the rotor and distributing it to the correct ignition wire and spark plug in firing-order sequence, enabling reliable combustion in each cylinder.

Key Features:

• Designed to meet or exceed OE (Original Equipment) specifications in form, fit, and function
• Directs high secondary current to the proper ignition wire for precise spark delivery
• Every component matches or improves upon the OE design for fast, easy installation
• Engineered for superior performance, reliability, and long service life
• Manufactured by Wells Vehicle Electronics, a trusted leader in automotive ignition components

Neglecting a worn distributor cap can result in a variety of drivability issues, including Check Engine Light (CEL) or Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination, engine misfires, increased fuel consumption, loss of power, internal engine damage, or a failed emissions test. Replacing the distributor cap at recommended service intervals helps maintain proper ignition system health and overall engine performance.
