Generac 261700 Recoil Starter Assembly with Pull Cord

The Generac 261700 is a genuine OEM recoil starter assembly designed as a direct replacement for compatible Generac portable generators and small engine equipment. This complete assembly restores reliable manual pull-start capability to your generator when the original unit becomes worn, damaged, or fails to retract properly.

Key Features:

• Complete Assembly: Includes the starter housing, recoil spring, starter pulley, and pull cord with grip handle
• Genuine OEM Part: Manufactured by Generac to original equipment specifications for precise fit and reliable function
• Pull Cord Start Mechanism: Engages the engine's flywheel/clutch to initiate crankshaft rotation for manual starting
• Durable Construction: Built to withstand repeated pull-start cycles and exposure to outdoor operating conditions
• Direct Replacement: Designed to bolt directly onto compatible Generac engine housings with no modification required

Common signs that a recoil starter assembly needs replacement include a cord that will not retract, difficulty pulling the cord, a cord that pulls out without engaging the engine, or visible damage to the housing or rope. Installing a genuine Generac replacement ensures proper recoil spring tension and engagement geometry are maintained. Mounting hardware is sold separately.
