Wells 2M1663 Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid EVAP System Replacement

The Wells 2M1663 is a direct-replacement Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid designed to restore proper function to your vehicle's evaporative emissions (EVAP) system. This solenoid valve is a critical component responsible for directing stored fuel vapors from the charcoal canister into the engine's intake stream, where they are burned in the combustion chamber rather than released into the atmosphere.

The Engine Control Module (ECM) commands the solenoid to open and close at precise intervals based on operating conditions, regulating vapor flow for optimal combustion efficiency and emissions compliance. A failed purge solenoid can trigger a Check Engine Light, cause the vehicle to run rich, reduce fuel economy, and result in a failed emissions inspection.
