Product Details

The Briggs & Stratton 691983 Governor/Oil Slinger is a genuine OEM replacement part designed to restore proper engine speed regulation and internal lubrication to Briggs & Stratton small engines. This single component serves a dual purpose: the governor gear assembly monitors and controls engine RPM under varying load conditions, while the integrated oil slinger distributes engine oil to critical internal components during operation.

Key Features:

  • Genuine OEM Briggs & Stratton part — engineered to exact factory specifications
  • Dual-function design combines governor gear and oil slinger into one assembly
  • Maintains consistent engine speed under variable load conditions
  • Ensures proper splash lubrication of crankshaft, camshaft, and connecting rod bearings
  • Direct drop-in replacement — no modifications required
  • Replaces superseded part numbers 294652 and 491688

This part is commonly found in Briggs & Stratton horizontal and vertical shaft engines used in lawn mowers, pressure washers, generators, and other outdoor power equipment. Replacing a worn or damaged governor/oil slinger promptly helps prevent engine overspeed events and lubrication failures that can lead to costly engine damage.

Fast great service

Fast shipping

Exactly what I ordered.

Best price. Delivery was spot on.

Great value and easy delivery.

Website said the system I ordered was different from what the order confirmation said. I called customer service who said they could not confirm what was shipped and told me to send inquiry via email. In the end the system fit, but If you are not going to help customers over the phone, don't have a customer service number!
