The NTP YD140 Distributor Cap is an ignition component for vehicles with a distributor-based ignition system. The cap sits on top of the distributor housing. It covers and protects the internal parts, and it routes high-voltage current from the ignition coil to the spark plug wires.

What it does:

  • Works with the rotor to direct coil voltage to each spark plug in firing order
  • Provides the connection point for the coil wire and the spark plug wires
  • Helps keep moisture and debris out of the distributor housing

A worn or cracked distributor cap can cause misfires, rough running or hard starting, so replacing it is a common part of ignition tune-up service.
