Wells 2M1660 Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid EVAP Purge Valve

The Wells 2M1660 Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid is a direct-fit replacement for your vehicle's evaporative emissions (EVAP) system. This purge valve solenoid controls the flow of fuel vapors from the charcoal canister into the engine's intake stream, where they are burned in the combustion chamber rather than released into the atmosphere.

The Engine Control Module (ECM) commands the solenoid to open and close based on operating conditions, metering the purge flow precisely. A failed purge solenoid can cause the engine to run rich, trigger a check engine light (CEL), result in a failed emissions test, or lead to increased fuel consumption.

Key Features:

• Engineered and tested to match OE parts in fit, form, and function
• Designed to meet or exceed OE specifications for reliable performance
• Compatible with both domestic and imported vehicle applications
• Includes OE-style brackets, hardware, and electrical connectors where applicable
• Drop-in replacement for fast, straightforward installation
• Manufactured by Wells Vehicle Electronics, a leading supplier of vehicle electronics for the automotive aftermarket

The purge solenoid is typically located under the hood near the intake manifold, though exact placement varies by engine design. Replacing a faulty vapor canister purge solenoid restores proper EVAP system function, helps pass emissions testing, and eliminates related diagnostic trouble codes.
