J.C. Whitney JV27160005 OEM Replacement Rear Brake Caliper Passenger Side

The J.C. Whitney JV27160005 is an OEM replacement rear brake caliper designed for the passenger side (right-hand) position. This direct-fit caliper is engineered to restore original braking performance and is built to meet or exceed OEM specifications.

Brake calipers are a critical component of any disc brake system. When hydraulic pressure from the master cylinder is applied, the caliper's internal piston clamps the brake pads against the rotor, generating the friction needed to slow and stop the vehicle. A worn or leaking caliper can result in reduced braking efficiency, uneven pad wear, or brake drag — making timely replacement essential for safe operation.

Key Features:

• Direct OEM Replacement — Engineered as a precise drop-in replacement to restore factory braking performance
• Passenger Side (Right-Hand) — Correct caliper for the right rear wheel position
• Single-Piston Design — Features one metal piston (approximately 1.61" / 41 mm diameter) consistent with the OEM specification for this application
• Includes Mounting Bracket — Caliper assembly includes the bracket for a complete installation
• Anti-Rust Coating — Protective finish to extend service life in harsh conditions
• Compatible with 256mm Rear Disc Brake Applications — Designed for the MK5 platform rear disc setup

Installation Notes:

• Caliper carrier bolts torque spec: 90 Nm (66 ft-lbs) plus one 90-degree turn
• Guide pin bolts torque spec: 35 Nm (26 ft-lbs)
• The rear caliper piston must be rotated (ratcheted) back into position — do not simply push it straight in
• Professional installation is recommended
