Product Details

The J.C. Whitney JT612903 is an OEM replacement trunk lid lift support designed for the Toyota Prius equipped with a rear wiper. This gas-charged strut restores proper hatch operation, keeping the trunk lid securely propped open while loading and unloading — preventing the lid from falling unexpectedly.

Key Features:

  • Direct OEM replacement — fits both driver and passenger sides (RH = LH)
  • Designed specifically for Toyota Prius models equipped with a rear wiper
  • Gas-charged cylinder provides consistent, controlled lift support
  • Restores hatch to like-new operation — no more slamming or sagging lids
  • Straightforward installation with no special tools required

OEM Cross-Reference Part Numbers:

  • Toyota OEM: 68950-0W204, 68960-0W194
  • Cross-references: 6137, 901732, 8196613, 90450EA000, 90450ZL80A, 90451EA00A, 90451ZL80A, D6137, D95670, SG325026

This lift support strut is an essential replacement for worn or failed hatch struts. Failing struts can cause the hatchback lid to fall unexpectedly, creating a safety hazard. Replacing them promptly restores safe, reliable access to the rear cargo area.
