A failed or worn turbocharger can cause excessive smoke, reduced power, high exhaust gas temperatures, and poor fuel economy. Replacing the turbocharger with this direct-fit unit restores proper engine operation and efficiency. Because the exhaust manifold and turbocharger function as a near-unified assembly on these TDI engines, this combined replacement unit is the recommended solution when either component requires service.
