Skyward Automotive Products SKAL00A Brake Backing Plate

The Skyward Automotive Products SKAL00A is a replacement brake backing plate designed to restore the structural integrity and proper function of your vehicle's braking system. The backing plate serves as the foundation of the drum brake assembly, mounting to the axle flange or spindle and providing a fixed surface to which the wheel cylinder, brake shoes, and associated hardware are attached.

Key Features:

• Engineered to meet or exceed OEM specifications for precise fit and function
• Constructed from stamped steel for durability and resistance to heat and mechanical stress
• Provides a stable mounting surface for brake shoes, wheel cylinder, and return springs
• Helps protect internal brake components from road debris, dirt, and moisture
• Direct-fit replacement minimizes installation time and complexity

The backing plate plays a critical role in brake safety and performance. A damaged, cracked, or corroded backing plate can cause improper brake shoe alignment, noise, reduced braking efficiency, and accelerated wear on surrounding components. Replacing a worn or damaged backing plate with the SKAL00A helps ensure consistent, reliable braking performance.
