The Eaton 19659-010 ELocker is an electronically actuated locking differential designed for GM 8.5 and 8.6-inch 10-bolt axles with 30-spline axle shafts and gear ratios of 2.73 and up. Under normal driving conditions, the ELocker functions as an open differential, but when an obstacle is encountered, the driver activates a dash-mounted switch to engage the electromagnetic locking mechanism, which captures 100% of available torque and distributes it equally to both wheels. A second flip of the switch deactivates the unit to resume normal driving.

The ELocker is designed for high-performance applications including off-roading, trail riding, rock crawling, and towing. Built with precision-forged gears designed to mesh perfectly, the ELocker provides improved strength and durability over standard cut gears. This differential performs as an open unit for comfortable daily driving and maximum fuel efficiency, then instantly converts to a full locker when maximum traction is needed.

Important Installation Notes:

  • All GM 8.5/8.6 Eaton differentials require special bearings: For axles with small bearing bores (race O.D. of 2.89 inches), typically found on vehicles prior to 1999, use bearings LM102949 and races LM102911. For axles with large bearing bores (race O.D. of 3.06 inches), typically found on 1999 and newer vehicles, use bearing LM603049 and race LM603012.
  • Includes wiring harness, dash switch, relay, and all necessary electrical components for installation
  • Fits 1988-1992 8.5-inch front and 1988-2009 8.5/8.625-inch rear axles
