SKF 38618A Radial Shaft Seal Gaskets & Seals

The SKF 38618A is a radial shaft seal designed to retain lubricants and exclude contaminants in rotating shaft applications. As part of SKF's comprehensive industrial sealing solutions, this seal provides reliable protection for bearing assemblies and rotating equipment across a wide range of industries.

Key Features:

• Metal case construction provides structural rigidity and ensures proper seal retention in the housing bore
• Elastomeric sealing lip creates effective contact with the rotating shaft surface
• Garter spring maintains consistent radial load on the sealing lip throughout the seal's service life
• Designed to prevent lubricant leakage while keeping dust, dirt, and other contaminants out of the sealed cavity
• Suitable for various industrial applications including pumps, gearboxes, motors, and power transmission equipment

Applications:

This seal is commonly used in automotive, agricultural, construction equipment, and general industrial machinery where reliable shaft sealing is required. The radial shaft seal design makes it ideal for applications requiring lubricant retention in grease or oil-lubricated bearing arrangements.

Installation Note:

Proper installation requires careful handling to avoid damage to the sealing lip. The shaft surface should be smooth and free of burrs, with appropriate surface finish for optimal seal performance and service life.
