Moose Racing 041-2501 Rim Lock 2.50 Inch

The Moose Racing 041-2501 Rim Lock is an essential component for off-road motorcycles, dirt bikes, and dual sport machines with 2.50-inch wide rims. This mechanical clamp prevents tire slippage on the rim during aggressive riding, particularly when running low tire pressures for enhanced traction in challenging terrain.

Key Features:

• Designed for 2.50-inch rim width applications, commonly found on rear wheels of larger displacement dirt bikes
• Features metal cleats molded into durable rubber construction to grip the inside tire bead
• Prevents tire rotation on the rim during hard acceleration, braking, and low-pressure riding
• Protects valve stem from damage by securing tire position on the rim
• Installs between the tire and inner tube for reliable performance
• Essential safety component for running tire pressures as low as 6-10 PSI in off-road conditions

The rim lock works by clamping the tire bead against the rim with an angular shape that creates positive engagement. When properly installed and tightened, it prevents the tire from spinning independently of the wheel, which can tear the valve stem and cause instant flats. This is particularly important for motocross, enduro, trail riding, and adventure riding where low tire pressures are used to maximize traction and tire contact patch on loose or technical terrain.
