Gates 51980 Modular Coolant Hose Assembly with Quick-Connect Fittings

The Gates 51980 is a precision-engineered modular coolant hose assembly designed for specific OEM cooling system applications. This branched coolant hose features integrated quick-connect fittings and is manufactured to exacting OE specifications, making it an ideal direct replacement for complex factory coolant routing systems.

Key Features:

• Modular design with integrated branches and quick-connect fittings for easy, leak-free installation
• EPDM tube and cover construction with synthetic fiber knit reinforcement for maximum durability
• Engineered to resist electrochemical degradation (ECD), the leading cause of coolant hose failure
• Temperature range: -40°F to +257°F (-40°C to +125°C) for reliable performance in extreme conditions
• Heat and ozone-resistant materials prevent premature cracking and deterioration
• Specifically-engineered materials resist vacuum collapse without internal springs
• Meets SAE 20R3 EC Class D1 for hoses under 1" ID and SAE 20R4 EC Class D1 for 1" ID and over

Gates modular coolant hoses include essential OE-style components such as hose branches, quick-connectors, sensors, and restrictors integrated into a single assembly, eliminating the need for multiple components and reducing installation time. The advanced EPDM compound resists heat, ozone, and modern coolant formulations while preventing electrochemical degradation that can cause micro-cracks and eventual failure. Gates recommends replacing hose clamps each time a new coolant hose is installed for optimal sealing performance.
