Gates 51971 Premium Molded Coolant Hose

The Gates 51971 is a premium molded coolant hose engineered to deliver OEM-quality performance for radiator, heater, bypass, and other cooling system applications. This pre-shaped hose is designed to ensure a precise fit and perfectly sealed connections, eliminating the guesswork from coolant system repairs.

Construction and Materials:

• EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) tube for superior coolant compatibility
• Synthetic fiber knit reinforcement for strength and durability
• Heat-, ozone-, and chemical coolant-resistant EPDM cover
• Specifically-engineered materials resist vacuum collapse, reducing the need for internal springs

Performance Features:

• Engineered to resist electrochemical degradation, the leading cause of coolant hose failure
• Meets SAE 20R4 Class D2 and DIN 73411 Class A specifications (except for tolerances)
• Operating temperature range: -40°F to +257°F (-40°C to +125°C)
• Pre-molded design ensures proper fit and installation

Gates recommends replacing hose clamps each time a new coolant hose is installed to ensure a secure, leak-free connection. As part of Gates' comprehensive molded coolant hose line—the most extensive on the replacement market—this hose offers a cost-effective alternative to OEM dealer parts without compromising on quality or reliability.
