Gates 52055 Premium Molded Coolant Hose

The Gates 52055 is a premium molded coolant hose engineered to deliver OEM-quality performance in engine cooling system applications. Pre-shaped to match original equipment specifications, this radiator hose is designed for a precise, leak-free fit whether used as an upper, lower, bypass, or heater hose.

Gates molded coolant hoses are constructed with an EPDM tube, synthetic fiber knit reinforcement, and a heat- and ozone-resistant EPDM cover — a combination that delivers exceptional durability and long service life. The compound is specifically engineered to resist electrochemical degradation (ECD), the leading cause of coolant hose failure, where the interaction between the hose, liquid coolant, and metal fittings creates micro-cracks that lead to leaks and breakdowns.

Key Features:

• EPDM inner tube with synthetic fiber knit reinforcement and EPDM outer cover
• Engineered to resist electrochemical degradation (ECD) — the leading cause of hose failure
• Pre-molded shape ensures a precise, leak-free installation
• Specifically engineered materials resist vacuum collapse, reducing the need for internal springs
• Resistant to heat, ozone, and chemical coolants
• Temperature range: -40°F to +275°F (-40°C to +135°C)
• Meets SAE 20R4 EC Class D1 requirements
• Approved for marine applications

Note: Gates recommends replacing hose clamps each time a new coolant hose is installed. Not intended for fuel or oil transfer applications.
