Professional Parts Sweden 28433250 Air Bag Clockspring Spiral Cable

The Professional Parts Sweden 28433250 is a direct-fit OE-quality air bag clockspring, also commonly known as a spiral cable, contact reel, or steering angle sensor. This critical safety component maintains continuous electrical connectivity between the steering wheel and the vehicle's electrical systems throughout the full range of steering rotation.

The clockspring houses a flat, coiled ribbon of conductive material wound around a spindle inside the steering column. As the steering wheel turns, the ribbon coils and uncoils to preserve uninterrupted electrical signals to the airbag system, horn, cruise control, and any steering wheel-mounted audio or driver assistance controls.

Key Features:

• OE-quality replacement engineered to match original fit, form, and function
• Restores proper operation of the airbag system, horn, and steering wheel-mounted controls
• Manufactured by Professional Parts Sweden, a recognized European automotive parts supplier
• Direct bolt-on replacement — no modifications required
• Built to meet stringent safety and quality standards

Common Failure Symptoms:

• Airbag warning light illuminated on the dashboard
• Horn inoperative or intermittent
• Steering wheel-mounted controls (cruise control, audio, DSTC) not responding
• Traction control or stability warning messages displayed

Replacement involves disconnecting the battery, removing the airbag module, and detaching the steering wheel to access the clockspring. Components must be removed and reinstalled in the correct order and orientation to avoid triggering network fault codes. This repair is recommended for experienced technicians.
