GPD 1811381 Variable Valve Timing VVT Solenoid

The GPD 1811381 is a replacement Variable Valve Timing (VVT) Solenoid, also commonly referred to as a VVT oil control valve. This solenoid is a critical component of the engine's variable valve timing system, designed to maintain optimal performance in select Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, and Saturn models.

How It Works:

The VVT solenoid is controlled by the engine's onboard computer (ECM/PCM), which sends electrical signals to regulate oil pressure flow to the camshaft phasers. By adjusting the timing of the intake and exhaust valves, the system helps optimize combustion efficiency across varying engine loads and speeds. When energized, the solenoid opens to allow oil flow to the VVT system; when de-energized, it closes to stop flow.

Key Features:

• Direct-fit replacement for compatible GM-platform engines
• Helps restore proper variable valve timing function and engine performance
• Improves fuel economy by optimizing valve operation
• Reduces emissions through efficient combustion control
• Helps eliminate rough idle, engine knock, or lack of power caused by a faulty VVT solenoid
• Manufactured to meet or exceed OEM fit, form, and function standards
• Backed by GPD's one-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship

Symptoms of a Failing VVT Solenoid:

• Check Engine light illumination
• Rough or unstable idle
• Reduced fuel efficiency
• Engine hesitation or lack of power during acceleration
• Engine knocking or stalling
