GPD 1811961 Ignition Knock Sensor

The GPD 1811961 is a direct-fit replacement ignition knock sensor (also known as a detonation sensor) designed to restore proper engine management function. GPD (Global Parts Distributors) has been a trusted supplier of quality automotive components since 1974, engineering replacement parts to OE specifications for reliable, like-for-like performance.

Key Features:

• Engineered to match original equipment specifications for accurate fit and function
• Senses abnormal engine vibrations caused by pre-ignition or detonation (knock)
• Signals the ECM to adjust ignition timing and protect engine internals
• Manufactured from durable materials for long service life
• Backed by GPD's 1-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship

The knock sensor mounts on the engine block, cylinder head, or intake manifold and continuously monitors for unusual vibration signatures associated with engine knock or ping. When abnormal combustion is detected, the sensor sends a signal to the engine control module (ECM), which retards ignition timing to prevent potential engine damage. A faulty knock sensor can trigger a check engine light (DTC), cause reduced power, poor fuel economy, or leave the engine vulnerable to detonation damage. The GPD 1811961 restores this critical protective function.
