GPD 1811784 Ignition Knock Sensor

The GPD 1811784 is a direct-fit replacement ignition knock sensor (also known as a detonation sensor) engineered to restore proper engine management function. The knock sensor mounts to the engine block, cylinder head, or intake manifold and continuously monitors for abnormal engine vibrations associated with pre-ignition or detonation — commonly called engine knock or ping.

When the sensor detects these harmful vibrations, it sends a signal to the engine control module (ECM), which retards ignition timing to protect the engine from damage. A failed or weak knock sensor can trigger a check engine light, reduce fuel efficiency, and leave the engine vulnerable to detonation-related damage.
