Michelin 555691 TRX-B Radial Tire 190/65HR390 89H Blackwall

The Michelin TRX-B 190/65HR390 is a legendary low-profile radial tire originally designed for high-performance European and American sports cars. Introduced by Michelin in 1975, the TRX was the first tire system to feature distributed tension technology (TR stands for Tension Répartie), which revolutionized tire design by spreading stress evenly throughout the entire tire casing.

Key Features:

• Innovative low-profile design with 65-series aspect ratio for enhanced directional stability
• Proprietary TRX bead and rim system creates a gradual casing curvature without traditional S-shaped flexing
• Metric sizing with 390mm rim diameter designed specifically for TRX wheels
• H speed rating for speeds up to 130 mph
• Load index 89 supporting up to 1,279 lbs per tire when properly inflated
• Overall diameter of 638mm (25.1 inches) with 191mm section width
• Classic blackwall styling perfect for period-correct restoration
• Radial construction for improved handling and ride comfort

The TRX earned its reputation in motorsports, proving itself in Formula 1 racing with Renault and Alain Prost, as well as in the World Rally Championship on iconic vehicles like the Audi Quattro, Peugeot 205 T16, and Renault 5 Turbo. Built in authentic molds, these tires deliver remarkable grip through ideal contact patch pressure distribution and excellent comfort due to an increased useful flexing zone. Originally standard equipment on performance models from Ford, Mercury, Peugeot, Citroën, Mercedes-Benz, and other manufacturers from the late 1970s through early 1990s.

Note: TRX tires require special TRX metric wheels and cannot be mounted on standard rims. Production is limited and availability may vary.
