Product Details

The Speedmaster PCE348.1042 Pontiac 455 multi-layer steel (MLS) head gasket is built to maintain contact pressure between the cylinder head and engine block through the dynamics of engine operation. It is specified at 4.200" @ 0.040" and is sold as a single gasket.

Key Features:

  • Multi-layer steel (MLS) laminate construction, known for standing up to the high shearing forces that occur between an aluminum head and an iron block
  • Internal embossments help create a better seal when the engine sees very high combustion pressures and temperatures, as in heavy nitrous and turbocharged applications
  • Suitable for aluminum heads on cast iron blocks and for aluminum heads on aluminum blocks
  • Better torque retention, less distortion and better sealing than conventional or composite head gaskets in high-horsepower, high cylinder-pressure applications
  • 4.200" @ 0.040" specification

Speedmaster designs its head gaskets to handle big power, making this MLS gasket a solid choice for a high-output Pontiac 455 build.
