Firstco CP7043 Thermostatic Expansion Valve TXV Ton Heat Pump - 3.5-5 R22

The Firstco CP7043 is a thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) designed specifically for heat pump applications using R22 refrigerant. This non-bleed type expansion valve is rated for 3.5 to 5 ton capacity systems and provides precise refrigerant metering control for optimal system performance and efficiency.

Key Features:

• Capacity range: 3.5 to 5 ton systems
• Refrigerant type: R22
• Non-bleed design for heat pump operation
• Controls refrigerant flow to maintain proper superheat
• Field-installable with screw-on connections
• Protects compressor from liquid refrigerant floodback
• Compatible with Firstco air handlers and fan coil units

Thermostatic expansion valves regulate the flow of liquid refrigerant entering the evaporator coil based on superheat conditions, ensuring that the proper amount of refrigerant enters the coil for maximum heat transfer efficiency. The non-bleed design is specifically engineered for heat pump applications where the valve must function properly in both heating and cooling modes. Installation of a hard-start capacitor may be required when using this TXV to assist with system startup against higher head pressures.
