Standard Motor Products SLS644 Stoplight Switch Brake Light Switch

The Standard Motor Products SLS644 is a direct-fit replacement stoplight switch, also commonly referred to as a brake light switch or stop lamp switch. Mounted at the brake pedal assembly, this switch signals the vehicle's brake lights to illuminate when the pedal is depressed, and in many modern vehicles also communicates with the powertrain control module, cruise control system, and push-button ignition systems.

Key Features:

• Specially designed spring and contact arrangement reduces arcing for extended service life
• Copper alloy conductors ensure superior electrical conductivity with low resistive losses
• High-impact composite housing maximizes performance and durability
• 100% tested to verify mechanical and electrical switching performance prior to leaving the factory
• Manufactured to meet or exceed OEM specifications for reliable, like-new operation
• Part of Standard's comprehensive stoplight switch program covering hundreds of import and domestic applications

A faulty stoplight switch can cause more than just non-functioning brake lights — on vehicles with keyless push-button ignition, a failed stop lamp switch can prevent the engine from starting entirely. The SLS644 restores proper brake light operation and full system functionality. Standard Motor Products has been a trusted name in automotive electrical components for over 100 years.
