Cometic C5403-045 MLS Head Gasket Small Block Chevy Bore Thick - 4.200 045

The Cometic C5403-045 is a Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket engineered for Chevrolet Generation I small block V8 engines. This precision gasket features a 4.200-inch bore diameter and .045-inch compressed thickness, making it ideal for performance builds and engine rebuilds requiring reliable combustion sealing.

Key Features:

• Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) construction provides superior sealing and durability under high-performance conditions
• 4.200-inch bore diameter accommodates standard and slightly oversized cylinder bores
• .045-inch compressed thickness allows for precise compression ratio tuning
• Designed for aftermarket cylinder heads with undersized water ports for custom port matching and flow optimization
• Compatible with Chevrolet Gen-1 small block V8 engines (262-400 cubic inch displacement)
• MLS technology accommodates thermal expansion and cylinder head movement better than traditional composite gaskets

This gasket's undersized water ports provide flexibility for engine builders to customize coolant flow paths when port matching aftermarket heads. The MLS construction ensures consistent clamping force and sealing performance across the entire combustion chamber, making it an excellent choice for street performance, racing, and high-boost applications.
