Trane VAL12842 Thermostatic Expansion Valve TEV HXE 3 Ton R410A

The Trane VAL12842 is a genuine OEM thermostatic expansion valve (TEV) designed for residential and light commercial HVAC systems using R410A refrigerant. This HXE series valve with KX200 charge provides precise refrigerant flow control to optimize system efficiency and cooling performance.

Key Features:

• HXE 3-ton capacity rating for air conditioning and heat pump applications
• KX200 charge specifically engineered for R410A refrigerant systems
• Regulates refrigerant flow entering the evaporator coil to maintain optimal superheat
• Includes sensing bulb and capillary tube for accurate temperature monitoring
• Durable construction designed for long-term reliability in demanding conditions
• Genuine Trane OEM replacement part ensures exact fit and performance

The thermostatic expansion valve plays a critical role in the refrigeration cycle by controlling the amount of refrigerant entering the evaporator. This precise metering helps protect the compressor from flooding while maximizing cooling capacity and energy efficiency. The sensing bulb monitors refrigerant temperature at the evaporator outlet and automatically adjusts valve opening to maintain proper superheat levels across varying load conditions.
