Product Details

The Briggs & Stratton 692531 Governor Spring is a genuine OEM replacement part designed to restore proper engine speed regulation in Briggs & Stratton small gasoline engines. This spring is a critical component of the mechanical governor system, working to maintain consistent throttle response and stable engine operation under varying load conditions.

Key Features:

  • Regulates Engine Speed: Maintains consistent RPM by adjusting throttle position in response to changes in engine load
  • Genuine OEM Part: Manufactured to exact Briggs & Stratton factory specifications for a precise fit and reliable performance
  • Direct Replacement: Replaces obsolete part number 262761
  • Engine Compatibility: Fits many 098902 and 10A902 series engines — always verify by engine model number before ordering
  • Quality Construction: Engineered to withstand the demands of continuous outdoor power equipment use

As a genuine Briggs & Stratton component, the 692531 governor spring ensures the engine governor system operates as designed, helping to prevent over-revving, reduce component wear, and extend the service life of your outdoor power equipment.
