Briggs & Stratton 260546 Governor Spring OEM Replacement Part

The Briggs & Stratton 260546 is a genuine OEM governor spring designed for Briggs & Stratton small engines. This critical engine component works as part of the governor system to maintain consistent engine speed and performance under varying load conditions.

How It Works:

The governor spring provides tension to the throttle linkage, working in balance with the governor mechanism to regulate engine RPM. The spring pulls the throttle open while the governor attempts to close it, creating a force balance that maintains steady engine speed. When the engine encounters increased load and begins to slow down, the spring helps open the throttle to restore proper operating speed. This constant adjustment ensures your equipment runs smoothly whether idling or under full load.

Key Features:

• Genuine OEM Briggs & Stratton replacement part
• Maintains consistent engine RPM regardless of load conditions
• Essential component for proper governor system operation
• Direct replacement for worn or damaged governor springs
• Compatible with various Briggs & Stratton engine models

Governor springs can wear, stretch, or break over time, leading to erratic engine speed, surging, or inability to maintain proper RPM under load. Replacing a faulty governor spring with this genuine OEM part restores proper engine speed regulation and performance. Always verify compatibility with your specific engine model before ordering.
