Briggs & Stratton 597118 Governor Spring OEM Replacement Part

The Briggs & Stratton 597118 Governor Spring is a genuine OEM replacement part engineered to regulate and stabilize engine speed on a wide range of Briggs & Stratton small engines. Whether your equipment is surging, hunting, or running erratically, a worn or broken governor spring is a common culprit — and replacing it with an authentic factory part restores proper throttle control and smooth operation.

The governor spring works by applying calibrated tension to the governor linkage, automatically adjusting throttle position in response to changing load conditions. This keeps engine RPM consistent whether you're cutting thick grass or running light loads, while also protecting the engine from dangerous over-revving.

Key Features:

• Genuine OEM Part — manufactured to exact Briggs & Stratton factory specifications for a precise fit and reliable performance
• Regulates Engine Speed — maintains consistent RPM under varying load conditions for smooth, efficient operation
• Prevents Over-Revving — provides proper spring tension to protect the engine from excessive speed and potential damage
• Optimizes Fuel Efficiency — stable throttle control reduces unnecessary fuel consumption and engine wear
