Intermediate jets control fuel flow during mid-range throttle positions, making them essential for achieving proper air/fuel mixture throughout your engine's power band. Tuning your carburetor jets helps accommodate different riding styles, altitudes, weather conditions, and performance modifications—humidity and higher temperatures may require smaller jets, while dry air and lower temperatures may benefit from larger jets. The .032 inch size is a commonly used intermediate jet size for many Harley-Davidson applications with S&S carburetors.
