Electronic parking brake actuators are integral to modern Hill Hold Assist and electronic safety systems, automatically engaging to prevent vehicle rollback on inclines. Common symptoms of a failing actuator include the parking brake not engaging or releasing properly, unusual noises during operation, and dashboard warning lights. Diagnostic trouble codes C1378 and C1379 may indicate parking brake actuator issues requiring replacement.
