Trane VAL8988 3/8" x 1/2" ODS R410A Thermostatic Expansion Valve 3 Ton

The Trane VAL8988 is a genuine OEM thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) designed to regulate refrigerant flow in residential and light commercial air conditioning and heat pump systems. This precision-engineered valve is specifically calibrated for R410A refrigerant and rated for 3-ton cooling capacity, ensuring optimal system performance and efficiency.

Key Features:

• 3/8" inlet x 1/2" outlet ODS (Outside Diameter Sweat) connections for proper line sizing
• Designed for R410A refrigerant systems with 3-ton cooling capacity
• Maintains proper superheat by automatically adjusting refrigerant flow to the evaporator coil
• Durable brass body construction for long-term reliability under normal operating conditions
• Includes sensing bulb and capillary tube for accurate temperature monitoring
• Protects the compressor from flooding and overheating by regulating refrigerant metering

The TXV plays a critical role in HVAC system efficiency by controlling the precise amount of liquid refrigerant entering the evaporator coil. The sensing bulb monitors refrigerant temperature and creates a feedback loop to increase or decrease mass flow, optimizing cooling performance while protecting vital system components. This genuine Trane replacement part ensures compatibility and maintains the high-performance standards expected from Trane equipment.
