The Brush Research 09B53511 is a 9/16" (0.562") diameter Flex-Hone® finishing tool featuring 180-grit Silicon Carbide abrasive globules. Designed and manufactured by Brush Research Manufacturing (BRM), the Flex-Hone is the industry-standard ball hone for producing a precise, controlled surface finish on cylinder bores, valve guides, hydraulic cylinders, and other small-diameter bores.

The flexible nylon filament construction allows the abrasive globules to follow the contour of the bore, removing burrs, glazing, and light surface irregularities while generating the ideal crosshatch pattern required for proper oil retention and ring seating. Unlike rigid honing tools, the Flex-Hone is self-centering and self-aligning, making it easy to use with a standard drill or drill press.
