Wells 2M1173 Vapor Canister Vent Solenoid EVAP Emission Control

The Wells 2M1173 is an aftermarket replacement Vapor Canister Vent Solenoid designed to restore proper function to your vehicle's Evaporative Emission Control (EVAP) system. The vent solenoid controls the flow of outside air in and out of the charcoal-filled vapor canister, allowing fuel vapors to be purged from the canister and routed to the engine during normal operation — keeping harmful emissions out of the atmosphere.

Key Features:

• Engineered and tested to match OE parts in fit, form, and function
• Compatible with both domestic and imported vehicles
• Includes OE-style brackets, hardware, and electrical connectors where applicable
• Meets or exceeds original equipment specifications for reliable performance
• Direct replacement for a fast, straightforward installation

The vapor canister vent solenoid is typically located on or near the vapor canister, close to the fuel tank. A faulty vent solenoid can trigger a Check Engine light, cause EVAP system leak codes (such as P0446, P0449, or P0455), and lead to a failed emissions test. Replacing it with a quality aftermarket part like the Wells 2M1173 restores proper EVAP system sealing and purge operation.
