About CARDONE Industries
Few names in the aftermarket carry the same weight as CARDONE Industries. Founded in 1970 by Michael Cardone, Sr. and his son Michael Cardone, Jr. in a small North Philadelphia storefront, the company staked its entire reputation on a single, audacious idea: that used automotive parts could be rebuilt to perform as well as — or better than — brand-new ones. Most of the automotive industry called it an impossible idea. CARDONE proved them wrong.
That first product was a remanufactured windshield wiper motor, and the philosophy behind it — meticulous disassembly, cleaning, rebuilding, and testing against original-equipment standards — became the blueprint for everything CARDONE has done since. Over five decades, that six-person "Factory Family" grew into one of the largest privately held automotive parts remanufacturers in the world, with operations spanning Philadelphia, Texas, California, Canada, and Mexico.
A Catalog Built on Engineering Insight
What sets CARDONE apart from a typical parts supplier is the engineering intelligence baked into every rebuild. Because CARDONE technicians have disassembled and studied millions of failed components, they understand exactly where and why parts break down. That institutional knowledge shapes how every unit is remanufactured — with improved seals, upgraded materials, and design corrections that address the root causes of the original failure, not just the symptoms.
Today, CARDONE offers more than 86 product lines covering brakes, drivetrain, electronics, fuel and air systems, motors, pumps, engine components, and steering. Whether you need a Rack and Pinion Assembly for a high-mileage daily driver or a remanufactured windshield wiper arm, blade, or related component to restore reliable all-weather visibility, CARDONE maintains one of the broadest fitment catalogs in the aftermarket.
Product Lines and Quality Standards
CARDONE organizes its catalog into distinct tiers to meet different needs. A1 CARDONE covers the core remanufactured lineup, where every part undergoes thorough inspection and is tested against original-equipment benchmarks before it leaves the facility. CARDONE Select features brand-new components engineered using CARDONE's proprietary Cardone Select Engineered (CSE) Technology — the same reverse-engineering expertise applied to redesign common failure points from scratch. CARDONE Ultra rounds out the lineup with premium remanufactured parts designed for straightforward installation and long-term durability.
The company holds ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications, reflecting commitments to both manufacturing quality and environmental responsibility. Remanufacturing by nature keeps cores out of landfills and reduces the raw material demands of new production — a sustainability advantage CARDONE has championed since its earliest days.
A Legacy of Industry Recognition
Michael Cardone, Sr.'s pioneering contributions to the remanufacturing industry earned him induction into the Automotive Hall of Fame in 1994, placing him alongside icons like Lee Iacocca and Carl Benz. CARDONE has since been named Remanufacturer of the Year by the Automotive Service Industry Association and has earned innovation awards from major retail partners. That legacy of excellence continues to define how CARDONE approaches every part it builds.
