Product Details

The Cometic C5249-066 is a high-performance Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket engineered specifically for Chevrolet Generation 1 Small Block V8 engines. This precision gasket features a 4.200-inch bore diameter with a .066-inch compressed thickness, making it ideal for performance builds requiring reliable sealing under high combustion pressures.

Key Features:

  • Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) construction provides superior sealing and durability
  • 4.200-inch bore diameter accommodates stroker and performance builds
  • .066-inch (66 thousandths) compressed thickness for precise compression ratio tuning
  • Designed for 18-degree and 23-degree cylinder heads
  • Round bore configuration with integrated steam holes for proper coolant circulation
  • Compatible with Gen-1 Chevy Small Block V8 engines (265, 283, 302, 327, 350, 400)

Cometic's MLS gaskets feature multiple layers of stainless steel with a Viton rubber coating, creating a gasket that can withstand extreme cylinder pressures while maintaining excellent recovery characteristics. The round bore design and factory-style steam hole configuration ensure proper cooling system function. This gasket is an excellent choice for street performance, racing, and forced induction applications where reliability and precision are critical.
