S&S Cycle 34-4505 Front Connecting Rod Race for Harley-Davidson Sportster XL

The S&S Cycle 34-4505 is a precision-engineered front connecting rod race designed for Harley-Davidson Sportster XL models from 1957 through 1999. This critical engine component serves as the inner bearing race for the connecting rod assembly in the lower end of vintage Ironhead and Evolution Sportster engines.

Key Features:

• Manufactured from hardened steel for superior wear resistance and durability
• Precision-machined to exacting tolerances for proper roller bearing clearance
• Essential component for connecting rod bearing assemblies in XL Sportster engines
• Made in the USA by S&S Cycle, the industry leader in high-performance V-twin parts
• Compatible with S&S heavy-duty connecting rod assemblies and complete rod sets

This bearing race is a critical component in the connecting rod assembly where both rods share a common crankpin in the classic Harley-Davidson V-twin configuration. The hardened steel construction provides excellent thermal stability and corrosion resistance, ensuring reliable engine performance during rebuilds, overhauls, and performance upgrades. When replacing connecting rod components, it's recommended to replace the complete bearing assembly including races, rollers, and cages to maintain proper clearances and maximize engine longevity.
