Broan-NuTone RD1 Radiation Damper for Ventilation Systems

The Broan-NuTone RD1 Radiation Damper is a fire safety component designed for use with ventilation and exhaust systems in residential and commercial applications. This radiation damper helps maintain fire-rated barrier integrity by closing automatically when exposed to radiant heat from a fire, preventing the spread of flames and smoke through ductwork penetrations.

Key Features:

• Automatic closure mechanism activated by radiant heat exposure
• Maintains fire-rated assembly compliance in wall and floor penetrations
• Designed for integration with Broan-NuTone ventilation systems
• Helps meet building code requirements for fire-rated barriers
• Durable steel construction for reliable long-term performance

The RD1 radiation damper is typically installed where ductwork passes through fire-rated walls or floors, providing critical fire protection while allowing normal airflow during standard operation. This component is essential for maintaining code compliance in multi-family dwellings, commercial buildings, and other structures requiring fire-rated assemblies.
