Product Details

The MSD 8291 Pro-Cap Modified Distributor Cap is engineered for Honda and Acura engines that demand more from their ignition system. Unlike the stock distributor cap with its weak integrated coil, this modified cap eliminates the internal coil entirely to unlock the full potential of a high-output external ignition coil.

Key Features:

  • Brass terminal construction for superior conductivity and long-term durability
  • Female, socket-style design with screw-down attachment for a secure, vibration-resistant fit
  • Fitted with an MSD Power Tower to accept high-voltage coil wire from an external coil such as an MSD Blaster Series Coil
  • Includes 8.5mm Super Conductor coil wire and crimp tool — everything needed for installation
  • Black cap finish; compatible with 1.6L and 2.2L L4 Honda and Acura applications

Important: The stock internal coil is not compatible with this cap and must be removed. An external coil (sold separately) is required for proper operation.

Sold as a complete kit, the MSD 8291 is the go-to upgrade for Honda and Acura performance enthusiasts looking to maximize spark energy, improve throttle response, and support high-RPM ignition demands on street and track applications.
