Fox Racing Shocks 981-25-004 Factory Race 2.5 x 16 Smooth Body Remote Reservoir Shock

The Fox Racing Shocks 981-25-004 is a Factory Race Series 2.5-inch smooth body remote reservoir shock absorber built for serious off-road performance. Engineered for demanding desert racing and trail applications, this shock delivers race-proven damping control in an easy-to-mount assembly. With a 16-inch stroke, a compressed length of 25.5 inches, and an extended length of 41.45 inches, it provides up to 15.95 inches of wheel travel for maximum suspension articulation.

The smooth body design makes this shock ideal for vehicles already equipped with a primary spring system — such as leaf springs or a torsion bar — to manage the vehicle's weight. The remote reservoir keeps oil and nitrogen gas separated for consistent fade-free damping even under the most punishing conditions.

Key Features:

• 2.5-inch smooth bore body — zinc-plated seamless steel construction with dual-coat FOX Grey Cerakote® ceramic finish over zinc-plated basecoat for superior corrosion resistance
• 17-4 H900 hard chrome plated stainless steel shaft — exceptional strength and long-term wear resistance
• JM92 MIL-SPEC racing oil — developed specifically for off-road racing applications
• Black anodized CNC-machined aluminum components — precision-engineered for strength and lightweight performance
• Remote reservoir — increases oil and nitrogen capacity for consistent, fade-resistant damping
• Rebuildable and owner-serviceable — designed for long-term use and field maintenance
• Custom valving options available — tune to your specific application and driving style
• All hardware included — necessary washers, bushings, and nuts included for installation

Backed by Fox's limited one-year warranty against defects and premature failure, the 981-25-004 is sold individually and is a trusted choice for off-road enthusiasts and racers who demand consistent, race-caliber suspension performance.
